St Andrews is not only home to the University of St Andrews but also the 'home of golf' due to the fact that this sport was played here since the 15th century. Nowadays there are seven public golf courses: obviously the Old Course (one of the oldest in the world), Eden, Jubilee Course, New, Strathtyrum, the Balgove and the Castle Course.

I tried playing golf but after some minutes I simply gave up. This is not for me but I admire people who have the patience for playing golf!
