To cut a long story short: a visit from friends abroad. This means playing tour guide and tourist in the town I'm living in namely Vienna, Austria.
Please, do not confuse it with Australia 'cause we do not have any kangoroos here.
First thing to do? If the weather's nice, grab a taxi/ car/ bus and go to Kahlenberg! The view is oh so worth it! And if you're the lucky one you get a table with this incredible view!
Next thing to see? Obviously Schloss Schönbrunn.
You have kiddos? This one's for you!
You're the animal lover? Click here!
A Sisi fan? Follow this link!
And if you're too cool for all of the above, move your ass to Gloriette and on your way up, break the rule by chilling on the grass! hahaha! I mean how rebellious is that?
Yep, that's the view when you go for option #4. Nice, huh? I knew you'd like it!
Clearly, I wasn't the only one chilling.
This one's for the technology lover in you but more about that in another post. It's not too far from the Schloss Schönbrunn.
The Museumsquartier or museum quarter for the English people ;)
One on side is the Leopold museum and on the other is MUMOK (you can see it on the pic below!)
We went for the Leopold museum because of the Egon Schiele exhibition. In case you're wondering who he was: an Austrian painter. Unfortunately died at a very young age.
There's also a panoramic window somewhere in the upper floors (obviously hahahha). Well, if you lucky you will take a snapshot if not you'll have to wait until some Ms will have her 136 selfies taken! No kidding here!
And if you're not into art still go to Leopold but the café not the museum. It might seem like Hipster scene but who cares, their food is damn good! Go for the detox breakfast or the wraaaaaap! There's a chance you have to wait for a table 'cause you can enter the café from outside and from the museum.
Moving on ... to the Belvedere!
To be precisley that's the upper Belvedere. It's located in the 3rd district. It was built as a summer residence for Prince Eugene of Savoy. I'll finish here but they are still some nice touristic things to do and see.
